PRIVACY POLICY

This Privacy Policy describes how IndiEleven™ ("we", "our", or "us") collects, uses, and handles information in connection with Patient Zero, the PC game available on Steam.

By playing Patient Zero or using any of its connected services (including IndiEleven global leaderboards), you agree to the practices described in this policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the game or its connected services.

INFORMATION WE COLLECT

Patient Zero is a local PC application. Most gameplay data (run stats, prestige progress, EVO points, permanent boosts) is stored exclusively on your device and never transmitted to our servers.

The following data is collected only if you choose to create an IndiEleven account and participate in global leaderboards:

• Username chosen by the player at account creation
• Game score data: Total Infected count, Best Combo reached, Drops Collected
• Account creation timestamp
• Anonymous player identifier (internal ID, not linked to personal identity)

We do not collect the following at any time:

• Real name, email address, phone number, or home address
• Payment or financial information (handled entirely by Steam/Valve)
• Device hardware identifiers or biometric data
• Browsing history or data from other applications
• Location data beyond what is voluntarily submitted in your username

LOCAL DATA STORAGE

Patient Zero stores the following data locally on your computer to preserve your game progress between sessions:

• Run statistics: level reached, infection count, combo history, drop count
• Prestige tier and EVO point total
• Permanent boost unlocks earned through level milestones
• Visual theme preferences unlocked via prestige
• IndiEleven session token (if you logged in to leaderboards) — stored locally and used only to authenticate future leaderboard submissions

All local data is stored in your system's standard application data directory. You may delete it at any time by uninstalling the game or clearing the local storage. Clearing local data will reset your run history and permanent boosts.

GLOBAL LEADERBOARDS

Patient Zero features optional global leaderboards powered by IndiEleven, our in-house game services platform. Participation is entirely voluntary.

When you create an IndiEleven account and submit a score, the following information becomes publicly visible on the leaderboard:

• Your chosen username
• Your submitted score value (Infected count, Combo, or Drops)
• Your global rank position

Leaderboard data is retained as long as the service is active. You may request deletion of your leaderboard account and associated scores by contacting us at the address listed at the bottom of this page.

STEAM & VALVE

Patient Zero is distributed through Steam, operated by Valve Corporation. When you purchase or download the game through Steam, Valve collects and processes data in accordance with their own Privacy Policy.

IndiEleven does not receive your Steam account credentials, payment information, or Steam profile data. We have no access to your Steam friend list, purchase history, or any other data held by Valve.

Steam Trading Cards may drop automatically while the game is running. These are managed entirely through Steam's own systems and do not involve any data transmission to IndiEleven.

HOW WE USE DATA

The limited data we collect through IndiEleven leaderboard accounts is used exclusively for the following purposes:

• Displaying your score and rank on the global leaderboard
• Authenticating your account for future score submissions
• Preventing fraudulent or impossible score submissions through server-side validation
• Monitoring service health and preventing abuse (rate limiting)

We do not use your data for advertising, profiling, cross-game tracking, or any purpose beyond operating the leaderboard service.

DATA SECURITY

IndiEleven leaderboard data is stored on secured servers with industry-standard protections including HTTPS transmission, server-side input validation, API key authentication, and rate limiting to prevent abuse.

While we take reasonable precautions to protect the data we store, no system is perfectly secure. Given the limited and non-sensitive nature of leaderboard data (usernames and game scores), the risk to players is minimal.

Score submissions are validated server-side against known game limits. Submissions that exceed these limits are rejected to maintain leaderboard integrity.

CHILDREN'S PRIVACY

Patient Zero is rated for general audiences and does not contain content restricted to adults. However, the IndiEleven leaderboard service is not directed at children under the age of 13.

We do not knowingly collect any information from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has submitted information through our leaderboard service, please contact us and we will promptly delete that information.

YOUR RIGHTS

Depending on your location, you may have rights regarding the data we hold about you. These include:

• Access — request a copy of the data we hold associated with your account
• Correction — request correction of inaccurate data (e.g. username update)
• Deletion — request deletion of your IndiEleven account and all associated leaderboard data
• Portability — request your data in a machine-readable format
• Objection — object to processing of your data in certain circumstances

POLICY CHANGES

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices or applicable law. When we make significant changes, we will update the "Last Updated" date at the top of this page.

We encourage you to review this policy periodically. Continued use of Patient Zero or IndiEleven leaderboard services after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
